Sherman Steering Committee

Who is the SSC?
Sherman Steering Committee is a non-profit 501(c)3 parent teacher organization for the school. This committee is very similar to your common PTA/PTO Groups. Our ultimate goal is to help the students in any way we can. Throughout the school year we raise money which is used to fund school programs including field trips, the Spooktacular Festival, 5th Grade Picnic, Year End Celebration, Kindergarten Orientation and other various events.

Join the fun!

The SSC is made up of parents and staff members who are passionate about making your child(ren)’s experience at Sherman Elementary the best it can be. However, we cannot do this alone! We have a meeting once a month and anyone and everyone is encouraged to join!

If you aren’t able to make it to our meetings, we do have many volunteer opportunities throughout the year that couldn’t be a success without parent support! Be sure to look for opportunities listed in our newsletters, email blasts or online for your chance to help out!

Believe it or not, 70% of our country’s population has a Facebook account and the SSC is no exception. We have created a Facebook page that helps connect parents, teachers and the community. Our goal is to not only inform our fans of SSC happenings but also what is going on throughout Sherman and the Chippewa Valley.
