To prepare all for postsecondary success!

 

At Sherman, in partnership with families and communities, we are dedicated to engage learners in a focused and respectful environment where all staff and students work collaboratively to achieve at high levels.

Sherman Core Values

Responsibility Our vision states that students and staff work collaboratively to achieve at high levels. We believe Sherman Stars must understand the duties and tasks that are expected of them in order to be successful learners.  We believe students should be accountable for their actions towards themselves, others, and community.
Respect Our vision states that we are dedicated to engage learners in a focused and respectful environment. We believe Sherman Stars should learn to value self, others, property, and diversity. Students will achieve at high levels when working together respectfully.
Safety Our vision states that students need a focused and respectful environment in order to learn.  We believe Sherman Elementary must be a place where Sherman Stars are protected and feel safe. Students will learn best in an environment that promotes learning, safety, and respect.   
Cooperation Our vision states that staff and students will work collaboratively to achieve at high levels.  We believe Sherman Stars must be able to work and play cooperatively in and out of the classroom in order to be prepared for the 21st century.
Honesty Our vision states that students will be engaged in a focused and respectful environment. We believe this environment will be created by both students and staff consistently seeking and speaking the truth. We believe Sherman Stars should be sincere and truthful towards peers and adults.   

 

Sherman Goals: First Six Weeks of School

  1. Promote a climate that is warm and has a sense of community.
  2. Create a safe learning environment.
  3. Teach the schedule and routines of the school day.
  4. Establish expectations for behavior and ways we will learn together in the year ahead.
  5. Introduce students to our environment, the materials of the classroom and school, while teaching students how to use and care for them.
