NHS Graduation Updates for the Class of 2024

CLASS OF 2024 GRADUATION  

The 2024 North High Commencement Ceremony will take place on Thursday May 23rd, 2024, at 7:00 pm. Weather permitting, Graduation will be held outdoors in front of the school with picnic style seating available for families in numbered assigned seating. We ask that families bring their own chairs and blankets to view the ceremony. There will be limited first come, first serve seating available in the auditorium for family members unable to be seated outdoors. The event will be live streamed for those family members in the auditorium or at home to enjoy.  **North will use the same rules as outdoor sporting events to determine if the ceremony will be moved inside, please dress accordingly.**

What Do I need to Graduate? 
Students must complete all of the required coursework to be eligible for Graduation. Seniors must complete the following before they will be given wristbands for Graduation. 

1. Order and pick up their Caps and Gowns from Jostens  
2. Complete the Senior Checkout form given at the Senior Class Meeting.
3. Pay any outstanding fines and the $10 graduation fee when turning in their completed checkout form. 
4. Attend Rehearsal the morning of Graduation. If you are not at Rehearsal you will not be allowed to walk in the evening. 
5. Turn in your Senior Checkout to recieve your Graduation Wristbands. Wristbands will ONLY be handed to students.

What Should I Wear to Graduation? 
 Students should wear dress pants, dress shirts, dresses, skirts, and dress shoes. Extremely informal attire such as shorts, jeans, and t-shirts are not appropriate for this event. As the graduation is outdoors, students should also make sure to wear weather appropriate attire. The graduation will only be moved indoors due to extremely inclement weather. North will use the same rules as outdoor sporting events to determine if the ceremony will be moved inside.

How Do I Get Tickets?
Six (6) wristbands will be distributed to students only at checkout. All obligations, including a completed checkout sheet plus the $10 graduation fee must be met before receiving wristbands. General admission and indoor seating in the auditorium will be available if your party exceeds 6 attendees. 
For each graduate, there are six (6) numbered wristbands for the Commencement ceremony, 4 blue and 2 white, in the event of severe weather the guests with blue wristbands will be permitted in the dog house, the white are welcome to observe the live stream in the Auditorium. The number on the wristband corresponds to your reserved space in the parking lot. Numbers are drawn at random by your student.



When Do I Get My Diploma? 

Graduates will recieve their Diploma Cover at Graduation. In the summer Diplomas will be available for pick up starting in late June in the main office between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 
The graduate is the ONLY person who will be allowed to sign for and pick up the diploma. A photo I.D. will be required.
