Hello, and thank you for visiting our 2019-20 Back to School web page! We are excited to be planning for the upcoming school year! We hope this page will provide a wealth of information, useful in preparing your students, and entire family, for the year that is to come.
Summer Hours:
Our school building will be closed for the majority of the summer, and staff will return late August. If you have questions before that time, feel free to call Principal Ben Dallman at 715.852.4710. He will be available to meet by appointment.
Enrollment Information:
If you are new to Roosevelt, we cannot wait to welcome you to our Tiger family! We encourage you to enroll your student with us as soon as possible. Please visit the following link to learn more about how to enroll. https://www.ecasd.us/District/Departments/Enrollment Once enrolled, you will receive additional important information regarding the coming year.
Teacher Assignment:
If you were a Roosevelt family last year, your student’s classroom teacher assignment was provided to your student on the last day of school. Please check with your student regarding this. If you are new to Roosevelt, your student will be assigned a classroom teacher later in the summer. Stay tuned for information in late August regarding who your teacher will be.
First Day of School:
The first official day of school is Tuesday, September 3, 2019. This day is known as Back to School Day. All families will need to come to school on this day, as it is very important for all students to get set up for the first full day of school. On September 3rd your visit will last approximately 30-45 minutes. While at school you will have a chance to complete all necessary paperwork for the school year, sign up for conferences, add money to lunch accounts, drop off medication, place supplies in your child’s classroom, and meet with the teacher. Your student should visit with you during this time, however he/she will not remain at school for the duration of the day. Students in grades 1-5 will attend for the first full day on Wednesday, September 4th.
Kindergarten Important Information:
All kindergarten students will experience a smooth transition into elementary school by developing a positive relationship with their classroom teacher, learning expectations, and practicing daily routines in a small group setting.  To do this half of the class will attend all day on Wednesday, September 4th, and half of the class will attend all day on Thursday, September 5th. ALL students will attend class as normal on Friday, September 6th. Specific information regarding when your kindergarten student will attend was sent in June. A repeat of this mailing will be sent again in late August.

Helpful Hints for the First Full Day of School:
School starts at 8:35 every day. There is playground supervision starting at 8:25.
Breakfast is served at Roosevelt starting at 8:15. Bus students may come directly into the building through the main entrance to go to breakfast.
All K-5th grade children should plan to meet on the playground before school. When the bell rings, students will line up behind the marking for their room number. On the first day of school, all teachers will be outside to greet their students and to help them know where to line up.
Students are dismissed from their classrooms at 3:35. School staff will assist the students with the dismissal process, making sure that the bus riders, car riders, and walkers are in the appropriate designated areas. All students being picked up, either on foot or by car, will be dismissed to the playground. Traffic around dismissal can become heavy. Please arrive early, plan to park some distance from school, and meet your student(s) on the playground. All bus students will be released out the front of the school building.
We cannot wait to spend the coming school year with you!
