Manz Book Room

The Manz book room, which is on the left wall as you enter the library, is a leveled collection of materials for ELA instruction. There are two parts: the first is a duplicate collection of the K-5 Good Habits, Great Readers guided reading books - useful when a reader needs something at a higher or lower grade level, or when there are more than six readers in a group. The second part of the collection is a library of leveled trade books used to supplement guided reading instruction. Both collections are sorted by level and by fiction/nonfiction.

While book room books are available only for staff to use with students, they do need to be checked out like regular library books. To return them, however, please place them in the red crate near the entrance (under the American flag). This helps us to keep our collections separate.

Finally, book room books can be identified by a neon yellow/green sticker on the cover. Classroom guided reading books and regular library books do not have this sticker.
