Professional Staffing

Professional Staffing data provide an insight into the movement of staff from year to year.

Full Definition:  Professional staffing data include the number of new hires, transfers, reassignments, and re-employment.  It also indicates the number of staff who leave the district, and reasons for leaving.  Finally, it quantifies the number of each level of degree earned by ECASD professional staff.

High quality staff are recognized through the perceptions of students and families.  These perceptions may be captured through surveying.

Full Definition:  The overall perception of education quality grade for a district is a composite of many factors, including how families perceive staff quality.  It is important to note that the perception of staff quality is not the only component of this measure.

Mentoring

Mentoring is the process through which the ECASD supports its teachers and principals that are new to the District.

Full Definition:  Mentoring is the process through which the ECASD supports its teachers and principals that are new to the District. This requires a balanced and ongoing approach throughout the new educator's first two years.

Pre-Service

Pre-service educators are those who are new to the profession and have not yet received licensure.

Full Definition:  Pre-service educators are those who are new to the profession and have not yet received licensure. The ECASD has developed a communication plan for its licensed teachers to use as guidance when considering supporting a pre-service educator.

Full Definition:  Classified professional development has been provided to ECASD classified staff throughout the 2018-19 school year. These sessions have been offered on PD/IP days.
